The Greater Good

Can you hear the buzz and the level of stress
That must mean it's just about here
With lots of new staff and a big name change
Comes the end of this fiscal year

And what a great year it has been
With the trials have come such joy
We are glad to say at the end of the day
Today I helped at least one girl or boy

Each team's worked together their best
To bring about the greater good
And we laughed and cried along the way
Like any non profit should

And boy did we raise money
Big Night, Golf Tournament, BOTY and more
Out doing themselves time and again
The D-team has much more in store

Our recruiters are out in the trenches
CRS fielding calls all the while
The Marketing Team gives us a face
That we can wear with style

The VET finding wonderful volunteers
The YET finding families in need
Both making life changing matches
With unprecedented kinds of speed

With the phones alit on the 6th floor
The MST supporting matches each day
Constantly honing and learning new skills
Brokering resources for change along the way

We're managing the age old struggle
betwixt people and numbers and such
Maintaining the business with bleeding hearts
And in the journey learning so much

To all of the supers and admin
the interns, the volunteers, and staff
This place couldn't run without you
We are Magic on your behalf

So much of life happening inside and out
So many people putting in long hours
So many lives to be making a difference today
So many babies and going-away showers

So farewell to a great year gone by
And welcome to a new year begun
Let's hope in all the madness and stress
We are also having a whole lot of fun
